TSS: Social Butterfly

Man, we were hanging out with other people all week. First, my parents were here last weekend, then on Monday we left the state shortly before they flew home. We headed down to Indianapolis to spend the week with my grandparents and while we were there we also saw my other grandparents, plus one of my aunts and two uncles. Then we (and this time I mean me and the three kids, because we left Brian at the airport in Indy – THAT was an experience on my own for a 4 hour drive) came home on Thursday to have dinner with my inlaws. Finally, the icing on the cake, I spent most of yesterday afternoon with Michelle of That’s What She Read; I think my son might be in love with her. If I couldn’t do the Readathon, this was a good way to spend the day.

Surprisingly, with all the togetherness and driving time I still got a BUNCH more stuff read than last week. Actually, I may have even gotten more written, which is good because I’m still way behind, and I hope to be NORC compliant by the end of the month. This probably means I should stop reading and only write, but I also figured out that I only have room for 8 more print/ebook reviews in my 2012 editorial calendar and I would REALLY like to finish reading those 8 books this month so I can join Michelle of My Books. My Life. in reading my own books in November. December is the time for me to read ahead for 2013.

Anyway, here’s what I finished this week:

  • Michelle

So jealous that you and Michelle got to hang out yesterday.

  • Tell D that I love him too, and I will see him again! In the meantime, have fun reading his dinosaur book! ;)

  • I have a backlog too :( But, it makes me feel better that I’m not a terrible person bc I’ve let this happen to my books. I have several audiobooks on my waiting list bc I take notes as I’m listening or bookmark places I want to remember, and then I get muddIed about it and move on to something else. I do take notes, thank goodness, or I would be totally lost. A favorite for me this year was Gods of Gotham…I took lots of notes…but I can’t find any of them :( ‘ll keep an eye out for any NORC posts on Twitter from now on :)
