Steve Jobs by Walter Isaacson – Audiobook Giveaway

Steve Jobs by Walter Isaacson, narrated by Dylan Baker
Published in audio by Simon Audio

From the publisher:

Based on more than forty interviews with the co-founder of Apple conducted over two years—as well as interviews with more than a hundred family members, friends, adversaries, competitors, and colleagues—Walter Isaacson’s STEVE JOBS is the riveting biography of the roller-coaster life and searingly intense personality of a creative entrepreneur whose passion for perfection and ferocious drive revolutionized six industries: personal computers, animated movies, music, phones, tablet computing, and digital publishing. Narrated by Dylan Baker (The Good Wife) with an introduction from Isaacson, this audiobook is an instructive and cautionary tale, filled with lessons about innovation, character, leadership, and values.

Although I’m not a huge Apple person, I’m fascinated by the company, ethos, and intense following that Steve Jobs created. I’m an equal fan of Walter Isaacson, whose Benjamin Franklin: An American Life I loved.  Whether you’re an Apple fan or simply interested in entrepreneurship, Steve Jobs is a must-read. Or even better, be read to by Dylan Baker:

PC because I can’t afford Apple. I don’t know what my favorite Apple product would be but I would love to play with graphics on Apple.

  • I have always admired Steve Jobs, he’s a very determined and business minded person that saw a future in something and never stopped attempting working towards his goal. He had several people that were great friends to him, constant butting heads, but always focused on one main goal.
I watched a tv show about him this weekend and found it fascinating. I guess you would always figure somebody as determined as he was would always have some kind of enemy or people that just could not work with him, but overall he seemed like a very flexible person business-wise as long as it all headed in the same direction, streamlining technology.

I know you giveaway says that it ended on Friday, but I just saw this tweet today and thought, no harm in still trying to see if you are still giving away copies. I know that not only I am interested in this audiobook, but my husband and mother as well. we are all fascinated by this man

Though I would love to have a Mac laptop, I’m a PC girl — though as soon as I have the funds, I’ll be investing in one! My favorite Apple product has to be the iPod, though. Completely revolutionized the way I — and everyone else — enjoys music.

  • I think, nostalgically, my favorite Apple product is my very first computer, one of those old boxy Macintoshes circa 1984. That thing changed my life (well, my ability to write papers) in college. Been an Apple gal since then. Now our household has 2 laptops, 2 Mac minis, an Ipad and 2 Iphones!

I was a Mac user until I entered the corporate world. I can’t manage a differed OS at home.

I am frighteningly dependent upon Apple products and would really relish the opportunity to learn more about the man behind the vision. Honestly, I don’t think I could go a day without my audiobook-loaded ipod.

    Thanks for this fantastic giveaway!

  • I’ve always been a PC girl, becuase that’s just what I’ve grown up using. I have used Mac’s before, & for the most part can manage although it takes some adjusting!

Favorite Apple product is my iPod Touch. It helps me get through work everyday! = )

    Thanks for the great giveaway!
