Ah, see, I found the writing gorgeous and loved Waldman’s descriptions, I thought they were very evocative. I did not get the impression that there was another tragedy, I thought they just lived their lives.

I almost put the book down several times because of the slow pace. It was way too wordy and descriptive. I have a question for anyone who has read it. What is your interpretation of the ending? Did another tragedy occur?

How interesting! I guess I didn’t have a strong connection to the characters either, but I was fascinated in watching their lives unfolded. I guess I didn’t really care what it was that happened to them, but I wanted to see it. Very interesting.

I read this book last week. I know this won’t make sense but I agree with your review yet I didn’t love the book. I’m nuetral. I didn’t feel a connection to the characters, didn’t care what happened.

I wonder if this is because I listened rather than read.

The writing is beautiful and I also loved the beginning and the end.

I’ve read some of her earlier books, the Mommy mysteries, which were snappy and fun, but none of her later books. Your review is making me want to pick this one up, right away!

I definitely want to pick up this one. I have seen many positive reviews and I think the premise of the story really sounds interesting.
