However, when I read Christian fiction, I do like the spiritual aspect to be introduced early on and continue to be fortified as the book proceeds. I agree that this book did not give me the gradual workup and crescendo I enjoy. I have read most of Dekker's material and usually enjoy the books. I enjoyed it, though. The Noxema was the hook that caught me. It kept me on edge. I don't remember ever worrying that any of the main characters would die, but I usually assume they don't. You said what I thought and felt about this book better than I did, I think. At least yours is more succinct :-).
