Had to read book to the end but felt writers slant on certain characters too negative.
It’s good to have a new slant on a story but I have never heard of a lesbian aspect to either Anne Of Cleves or Katherine Howard.
Sexual Cromwell!!?
I am far from being a prude but some of the story lines in this novel are just an excuse for pure gratuitous literary pornography. Not what you would expect from this genre.
Try another historical novel. Plenty out there much better and historically accurate than this.

Like Kathy, this era never really appealed to me. I have friends that read everything they can get their hands on that is related to these characters though. I suppose some day, I just need to try one and see if I like it. I shall come to you and ask for your recommendation!

I’m really intrigued by the Tudor era, but there is only so much that can be written. I love Phillippa Gregory’s novels.

I can take a few liberties with my historical ficiton (say, Gregory shifting the birth order of the Boleyn girls) but illegitimate children and lesbian relationships? That’s probably taking it too far for me.

The Tudor period just hasn’t appealed to me at all. I’m sure I’d love the right Tudor book if I’d give it a try, but I have a feeling this isn’t the right one.
