Today was a really big day for our church. Ever since it was planted 15 years ago we have been without a building. We bought a building about a year ago, but it wasn’t previously a church, so there was a lot of work to be done to get the building ready for worship, including getting occupancy permits. Today we were able to worship in our new building for the very first time, which was really cool. Hooray for being out of the local high school’s auditorium and in our own lovely building! Daniel was the inaugural baby in the nursery, so a bunch of pictures were taken of him.
Not only was Daniel the inaugural baby in the nursery, he will also be the first baby baptized or dedicated in the new building in a couple of weeks. He was also the star of the last service in our old building (a local high school). Last week was our Christmas pageant and we were asked to play the Holy Family, with Daniel as Baby Jesus.
That was during the dress rehearsal last Sunday, when he was sleeping, he looks like a doll baby. He was a little angel during the pageant, awake and quietly looking around the whole time.
Today we’re going to be (hopefully) putting up a Christmas tree and doing some decorating, probably while watching the Charlie Brown Christmas.

I love Charlie Brown Christmas! I’m without anything Christmassy here at school. I can’t wait to get home and watch every Christmas movie within reach before Christmas.

It sounds like this Christmas will be extra special for your church. Daniel does look like a little angel in that picture.
There is something awesome about participating in a church that is a grass roots project. You are invested. And your baby was an integral part of it! This is something you will never forget for the rest of your lives!

What a sweet picture.
I remember being Mary in a Christmas Pageant when I was in high school. The baby that was Baby Jesus cried the whole time. Glad to hear Daniel was an angel.
What a precious picture. I think Daniel was cast in the right role.
In my decoration news I think I will be getting a wreath because I am pretty sure my cats won’t leave a tree standing up right for more than 5 minutes at a time.

Congratulations on the new church building! My church went through the same thing several years ago, moving out of the elementary school gym and into a real building. Also, great picture of “baby Jesus.”
I think it’s way cool that you guys got to be the Holy Family. That’s not something that happens every day!
That’s so cool! When I was in college I was a member of a new church, and the first day we got to worship in an actual building was joyous – I’m so glad your church family was able to celebrate!
