In addition to my fantastic family, one of the things I’m very thankful for is reading. To celebrate this weekend, I’ve been trying to make a little extra time for reading. I didn’t post anything yesterday because I was (mostly, at least) unplugged, but I did start reading. So far I’ve finished “The Girl on Legare Street” and gotten nearly 100 pages into “Shutter Island,” a book I had previously abandoned because it just wasn’t captivating me, but that I picked back up after effusive praise from Jenn at Jenn’s Bookshelves .
Hopefully I’ll finish that today, then onto I’m not sure what.

With our son home for the week, my husband off for the week and our nephew here for the weekend, I’ve gotten very little reading done, but I’ve had a great weekend anyway.

Glad you’ve been successful thus far! I have finished one book I was already reading and read two more (shorter) books. Now I am about to start A Separate Country, by Robert Hicks.

I’m grabbing a few minutes of reading here and there, but nothing hardcore. This was THE one weekend where we did not have sports activities, so we are taking advantage!

Sounds like you got quite a bit of reading done so far this weekend, Jen. I finished the book I’d been reading and haven’t had a chance to start on a second one yet. Hubby and I ended up hitting the stores today to go Christmas shopping. I suddenly realized I didn’t have as much time left as I thought I did to get gifts and have them wrapped and ready to go by next weekend. Since both my husband’s and my families live out of town, we end up shipping most gifts. Hence the rush. Anyhow, I hope to snuggle up with my book tonight and enjoy some reading time.

I’ve not gotten as far as I would have liked in my Thankfully reading but other sceanrios presented themselves this weekend that kept me from really taking hold.

I have read quite a bit this weekend and it’s been great. Of course, I didn’t go on-line at all yesterday! I’ve found that once I start commenting in blogs or posting on my own, the day just disappears before I know it!
It sounds like you’re having a good weekend. I hope Shutter Island is better for you this time around!

Next year, I’m going to try and plan ahead with NaNoWriMo to make sure I’m available to thankfully read. ;D
