Winners! Serena of Savvy Verse and Wit and Deb of Book Magic!
So recently I read and REALLY enjoyed “The Queen’s Mistake” by Diane Haeger. It is probably my favorite Tudor historical fiction novel in quite awhile. I also have a guest post from Haeger about how and why she wrote about Catherine the way she did. Well NOW I have a giveaway! Two copies of “The Queen’s Mistake!”
To refresh your memory, here’s the publisher’s description:
When the young and beautiful Catherine Howard becomes the fifth wife of the fifty-year-old King Henry VIII, she seems to be on top of the world. Yet her reign is destined to be brief and heartbreaking, as she is forced to do battle with enemies far more powerful and calculating than she could have ever anticipated in a court where one wrong move could mean her undoing. Wanting only love, Catherine is compelled to deny her heart’s desire in favor of her family’s ambition. But in so doing, she unwittingly gives those who sought to bring her down a most effective weapon-her own romantic past.
The Queen’s Mistake is the tragic tale of one passionate and idealistic woman who struggles to negotiate the intrigue of the court and the yearnings of her heart.
Now, for the details:
To enter, tell me which of Henry VIII’s wives is your favorite and why.

I’m having troubles posting for some reason so I’m trying again. . . .
I would love to win this book as I love to read about all of Henry VIII’s wives. My favorite wife is Anne Bolyen. She was able to seduce a King and make him break with his wife, his beloved church, and turn his country upside down just for the chance to marry her. Unfortunately she started a precident that wives were disposable.
I am a new follower!
I have always been fascinated by Anne Boleyn, so I will say that she is my favorite. I guess it is the legend surrounding her; the affair with the king, the annulment, the church, no male heir, the charges of adultery/treason, and finally the beheading.

The Queen’s Mistake looks like a great story! Thanks for the chance to win. One of the wives I was always curious about was Jane Seymour–she actually had a son and then so sadly died a couple weeks later.
Jane Seymour has always been my favorite. I wonder if he would have stayed married to her if she hadn’t died.

I like Henry’s first wife, Catherine of Aragon, because she behaved so well towards him despite his later rejection and the humiliation by Henry and Ann Boleyn.
Please count me in – this sounds like a book that my mother and I would love!

Anne Boleyn is my favorite wife of Henry VIII. She was a good person who was so misunderstood. She was devoted to Henry & the snake just kicked her to the curb.
