This sounds like areally fun and intriguing challenge. OMG, you brought me back to my high school years when I read and adored Island of the Blue Dolphins!! I forgot about that book but for a time I was sure I’d never read anything better! Have a great time with this challenge!

I’ve never read any of the books that you fondly remember. I did, however, read Summer of My German Soldier and Homecoming. Loved them both1

I’m off to explore the challenge; I’m totally joining in! I loved this book — it inspired me to re-read some of my favorites and made me want to read a ton that I hadn’t seen as a teen.
