library loot picture Library Loot is a weekly event co-hosted by Evaand Marg that encourages bloggers to share the books they’ve checked out from the library.

I was doing so well for so long, but now it just seems like my list of holds and books checked out is continuously growing.  Pretty soon I’m going to hit my limit for holds, then I might have to start using my husband’s card.  Really, I should just use his card all the time for things like movies and tv shows that have super long wait lists, because it isn’t like he uses it for anything, then I’d have more room for books.

Anyway, this week I took out three books, one of which I took out for the second time since last time I had to return it unread.

say youre one of them picture cranioklepty picture how to buy a love of reading picture

Plus an audiobook:

where men win glory picture

I’m not sure I’m all that interested in Pat Tillman’s story, but I do love Jon Krakauer, so I let Rebecca talk me into it.

I also got the dvd of Coraline, FINALLY.  There are still 30+ people on the holds list, so I need to watch it tonight or tomorrow.

Have you read (or listened to or watched) anything I got this week?  Get anything good yourself?

  1. Looks like you got some good books to read. Hopefully you’ll be able to get through them quickly to dwindle your hold pile down :)

  2. This week I got NCIS Season 6 to watch while I work on the scrapbook of my 6-word memoir project. I also got a book from a new author for me Martin Limon. He was recommended to me by a friend and he’s going to be at Bouchercon, so I’d like to check it out.

I’m axiously awaiting any of the three audiobooks I requested a couple weeks ago. I’m really hoping they’re here before my trip to Indy so I can listen on the way.

    • Oh, I have Season 6 on hold, there are still like 8 people in front of me. I watched the first 5 seasons while I was home with the baby this summer. I hope your audio books come in!

  3. I have both read and watched Coraline. Loved both of them! The amount of work that was involved in creating the movie is amazing.

  4. Looks like you got some good stuff this week! I need to go the library tomorrow and pick up the audiobook of Neil Gaiman’s The Graveyard Book that’s on hold for me.

  5. Coraline is really cool. I saw it in the theater on 3D. It’s a visual feast!

  6. I am not a big fan of short story collections, but I think I might have to read the Oprah pick. The more I hear about it, the more intriguing it sounds! Enjoy your books!

  7. I saw Coraline a couple of weeks ago and I loved it. I loved the book more…but I still loved both of them. Hope you enjoy it!

  8. I’m not really in a hurry to read the Tillman book, only because by living in Phoenix, we have had an avalanche of stories about him. I have kind of overdosed on hise story at this point, which is a shame.

  9. I brought home How to Buy a Love of Reading from the library last month (strictly on the strength of the cover and title, I’ve heard nothing about it) and had to return it unread. I just couldn’t get in to it, and then I got swamped with other books. Maybe you’ll have better luck than I did! I’d be interested to hear what you think of it.

  10. I can’t tell you how many times I have to take out a book a few times in order to get a chance to read it. lol. You know what I find is I have a whole bunch of books on hold and they all come in at once. Never fails. lol. Have a great weekend Jen.

  11. Cranioklepty is such an interesting title! I haven’t read or watched Coraline yet, but both are definitely on my list.

  12. I want to read Say You’re one of Them as well. Cranioklepty is on my PBS wish list –Interesting cover and title. Enjoy your books

  13. What a fab idea!!
    I love discovering new reads.

  14. I’m a big Jon Krakauer fan and when I saw his new book subject, I was like “Oh.” But then I thought “Well, I trust him.” I shall read it someday I’m sure. An author has to really screw up like two or three times in a row for me to abandon them.

  15. Gosh – I haven’t gone to the library in FOREVER. I do plan on reading How to buy a Love of Reading this month though. It seems like something I will really like.

  16. Enjoy your loot!

  17. I currently have 3 books (not including the 10 or so baby books) checked out at the moment. Of them, I am just about to finish Scrambled Eggs at Midnight. I also recently read the Sookie Stackhouse novels–most of which I checked out from the library.

  18. I’m not sure I’m interested in Pat Tillman either, but I have a major crush on Jon Krakauer so I’ll be reading that book when I have some time. How to Buy A Love Of Reading also sounds like a fun read.

  19. Crankioklepty is one I’d totally grab off a shelf if I saw it!
