Library Loot is a weekly event co-hosted by Eva and Marg that encourages bloggers to share the books they’ve checked out from the library.
Okay, so I thought my ‘so many things on the holds list’ chickens had come home to roost last week, but it turns out that those chickens were just coming to get everything ready for the REST of the flock. Part of this is the fault of the Readathon, part of it is just plain old my fault. Either way, I’m slightly overwhelmed by library books right now. Between my card and my husband’s I have about 30 books out! I picked up 15, yes, F.I.F.T.E.E.N. this week. And my husband thought the 8 I had him pick up last week was a lot!
I’m going to break this up more than normal, because I think all 14 covers right next to each other would be too much, and nobody would even know what I got. This first batch is not intended for the Readathon, although I might sneak “Lady MacBeth’s Daughter” into the pile.

The Sisters Who Would Be Queen: Mary, Katherine, and Lady Jane Grey: A Tudor Tragedy by Leanda De Lisle
Lady Macbeth’s Daughter by Lisa Klein
The Wild Things by Dave Eggers
This next batch is all young adult lit specifically for the Readathon, although I’d like to still read them if I don’t get to them tomorrow.

Once Was Lost by Sara Zarr
Life As We Knew It by Susan Beth Pfeffer
In A Perfect World by Laura Kasischke
Next is the Booker Award Winner and a couple of recent book blogger recommendations. None of these will make any appearance during the Readathon.

Wolf Hall by Hilary Mantel
Waiting for Columbus by Thomas Trofimuck (recommended by Rebecca)
Tomato Rhapsody by Adam Schell (recommended by Nicki)
Another three that are definitely going in the Readathon stacks.

Savvy by Ingrid Law
Confessions of a Slacker Mom by Muffy Mead-Ferro
The Good Good Pig by Sy Montgomery
Lastly, two that could be read for the Readathon but probably won’t be and an audiobook.

That’s quite a haul! I’m near the top of the list for Wolf Hall, so shouldn’t have to wait too much longer..

Looks like you got some good stuff! The Sisters Who Would be Queen looks good–I’ve never heard of it. I have been eyeing Wolf Hall and Leviathan.

Hmm, In a Perfect World is the last book I finished; I certainly wouldn’t call it YA, though. Less than 24 hours until the read-a-thon starts, W00t!

Hmm, I guess I just assumed it was YA. Actually after talking to you, Michelle (Galleysmith) and Amy, I think that is my absolute last priority book. Everyone said that “Life As We Knew It” was similar and better, so I’ll be going with that one instead.
Ooh, nice library choices! I really want to read Leviathan and I have Wolf Hall, although like you I’m putting it off to a time when I have more concentration.

Wow. I think every one of these books is on my to read list. You have a wonderful library!!!

Yes! My library is AWESOME! They’re good about buying books I request, too.
Ender’s Game on audio sounds like a brilliant idea. I might have to copy you on that. It would be a wonderful way to re-read a great book.

You got some great titles! Several of those books are in my TBR pile, too. I got Leviathan the other day and my husband grabbed it for his TBR pile as soon as he saw it.
I have Waiting for Columbus waiting for me at the library. I just hope I can find the time to fit it in. After Rebecca’s rave review, I really want to read it.
Wolf Hall looks SO GOOD. I’m going to have to wait for the library to get a copy, but at least I’m 5th in line.
I should have added Life As We Knew It to my readathon pile. Well, who says I still can’t, right? I think I will!
Waiting for Columbus and A Good Good Pig are both on my “need to read soon” list. But that is just insane! It is like a shopping marathon gone awry, still didn’t cost you anything!

Isn’t it scary? I figure, though, if I need to indulge some massive acquisition desires, the library is the place to do it!
Your library loot always brings a smile to my face. I only brought home 3 books for the read-a-thon from the library. I did however pull The House on Tradd Street from my tbr shelf and added it to my read-a-thon pile yesterday.
Wow, that is a lot of books! Good luck with the Read-a-thon!

Looks like a great list of books…good luck with readathon.
I can’t wait to get my hands on a copy of Wolf Hall! Good luck with the reading tomorrow.
Yee gads, Jen! Do they ever ask you about all these books at the library? Or look at you funny? I, personally, have a stack of audiobooks checked out right now. Not sure if I’ll get to them all before they have to go back. It always happens this way, I’m waiting for something, anything to come in and then they all come in at once so I can’t possibly listen to them all before they’re due back. Have fun with your read-a-thon!
They did once before when checked out 11, but surprisingly not usually.
Every single one looks like one that I must read!!!
Good haul of books! The new Westerfeld is such a pretty book! I am so glad I bought it instead of getting it from the library… I really want the Dave Eggers book. Oh, and Savvy was good, too! Happy reading!
Some great covers..really!
Oh man, that’s a great collection! I’m on my library list for Wild Things (love Eggers) and Wolf Hall. Enjoy!

There’s some good loot there! Enjoy!
