Well, folks, I made it 19.5 hours.  In the end, my downfall was the baby who wouldn’t sleep.  Daniel actually went to sleep between 9 and 10 and was totally passed out.  Then, around 11, he woke up and decided it was PLAY TIME!  He spent at least 20 minutes each on trying to roll from his back to his front and then trying to scoot somewhere when I finally put him onto his stomach.  He didn’t quite accomplish either, but it wasn’t for lack of trying.  When 12:30 rolled around and I realized I’d read about 40 pages of the final book I was hoping to finish and Daniel still wasn’t showing signs of sleep, I realized that this was the end for me.  I cannot possibly make it through 24 full hours at this rate.  Since I started early, though, I did participate in 19.5 hours, which might be my most ever, I’m not sure.

Here are my final stats:

Time elapsed: 19.5 hours (I think?)

Books Read: Confessions of a Slacker Mom by Muffy Mead-Ferro, Persepolis: The Story of a Childhood by Marjane Satrapi, The King’s Rose by Alisa M. Libby,  The Black Stallion Returns by Walter Farley, Once Was Lost by Sarah Zarr, Where Men Win Glory by Jon Krakauer (audio), Where’s Baby’s Halloween Pumpkin, The Murder of King Tut by James Patterson, The Good Good Pig by Sy Montgomery

Pages Read: 1381

Time Spent Reading: 12 hours, 30 minutes ish plus 15 minutes of audio

Books Finished: 7 – Confessions of a Slacker Mom by Muffy Mead-Ferro, Persepolis: The Story of a Childhood by Marjane Satrapi, The King’s Rose by Alisa M. Libby,  The Black Stallion Returns by Walter Farley, Once Was Lost by Sarah Zarr, Where’s Baby’s Halloween Pumpkin, The Murder of King Tut by James Patterson

Happy Readathon, everyone!

  17. Very impressive!! I need to do something like this just to get my TBR pile down a little bit. It grows much faster than I can read. But of course, I also need a 24-hour review writing marathon, too. Oy, I’m so behind!

  18. Congratulations!! Hour 19.5 was my downfall too. Lack of caffeine and I fell asleep reading. :)

  19. Wow, your results were great — 12.5 hours of reading is fantastic!

  21. I think with a new baby, you get to double (possibly triple) all your stats! Great job!
