Library Loot – September 17, 2009
Library Loot is a weekly event co-hosted by Eva and Margthat encourages bloggers to share the books they’ve checked out from the library.
Okay, my library book shelf is starting to get really full, I’ve got to get some of these books read! Here’s what I brought home this week and why:

Undercover by Beth Kephart. I recently read Nothing But Ghosts and, the second I finished it I rushed to the library website to put another of her books on hold. If you want to see just how much I loved it, check out my review.

Real Life & Liars by Kristina Riggle. Kristina is one of the 2009 Debs. Need I say more? Pst, don’t forget that I’m hosting a challenge for the 2010 Debs!

The Guinea Pig Diaries by A.J. Jacobs. I love Jacobs’ books. Yes, I liked The Know It All better than The Year of Living Biblically, but I still wanted to read this new book.

The Canterbury Papers by Judith Healey. Swapna recently reviewed one of Healey’s books, but it was the next book in the series, so I thought I should start it here.

The Kingmaking by Helen Hollick. I will be reading the next book in this series in October and I was hoping to maybe read this one first, although I’ve been told that it isn’t necessary.
I also took out the 2nd season of Veronica Mars.

I love the cover for Undercover and I have heard/seen so many good things about Beth and her writing. I’ll get there eventually. Enjoy the book.

Ok. so you have three that I really, really want to read (Undercover [Amy & Kathy], Kingmaker [Jennifer (lit Housewife) and Meghan], and Canterbury Papers [Swapna].
And now I also have add Real Life & Liars by Kristina Riggle because you are convincing me that I need to read the Debs. And I *will* be in the challenge.
So that’s 4 books and 6 bloggers. Fits today’s BBAW theme!

Great finds! I loved both of AJ Jacobs other books so I’ll need to read his new book at some point.

Ohh, I’ve been wanting to read The Kingmaking. I’d love to hear what you think of it.

I ended up abandoning The Kingmaking, because the writing wasn’t my style. But I really need to read The Know It All (since I loved My Year of Reading Biblically)! And the other three you got have beautiful covers.

Love the cover of Real Life and Liars.

The only one of those I’ve read (or heard of) is The Canterbury Papers, which was not super-fantastic, but was good enough that it made put a hold on Healey’s new book when I saw it at the library.
Also, is it wrong that I’m excited that A.J. Jacobs has a new book out when I haven’t yet read either of his first two books?

I’m a HUGE A.J. Jacobs fan and plan on getting this book post-haste if my husband doesn’t come through with it for my birthday next week!

I’ve got The Kingmaking on request for exactly the same reason as you! I’ve owned that same Judith Koll Healey book for years (although it has a different title here!). I am not sure why I have never read it though!
