I adored A Wrinkle in Time and honestly can’t figure why it would be banned. Well, yes, I guess I can and it is such a shame. Loved To Kill a Mockingbird too and Native Son. Such important works should not be pushed aside. It’s just so silly and wrong. Looks like I need to get a bracelet!

I loved loved loved “A Wrinkle in Time.” Such an amazing book, and so are the others you mention too. I’m definitely wearing my “Banned Books” bracelet this week.

The whole thing makes your stomach turn, doesn’t it? Can you freaking imagine? Banning TKAM? Banning A Wrinkle in Time? Personally, my life wouldn’t be the same without these books. I think the banners are just a bunch of repressed hypocrites.

Off to read your reviews. My (second) banned books week post is here: http://tinyurl.com/ycgkoh6. I wonder how many new readers these books pick up on account of people have tried to ban them in the first place. I know I keep seeing titles that sound interesting to me, and I’ve definitely added some to my TBR pile because of it. Even the book I reviewed this week (And Tango Makes Three) probably wouldn’t have made it into our house to be read if it weren’t for topping the list of objectionable books three years running.

Judging by all the posts I have seen on this topic, I read a lot of banned books! I have even more of them on my TBR pile, so I guess I am all good.
