I am a huge historical fiction freak. I love Philippa Gregory’s novels, and I’ve always had a deep interest in Queen Elizabeth. My favorite novel on Elizabeth is I, Elizabeth. Thanks for the giveaway!

I enjoy reading historical fiction because I’ve always been fascinated by history (history major in college) but with a closer look at the characters’ lives. Historical fiction gives the author and reader a chance to extrapolate into people’s lives and motivations. The Elizabethan period was rich – not just the time of Shakespeare, it also had much politics and intrigue. From the rivalry between Elizabeth and Mary Tudor of Scotland, to Elizabeth’s childhood and her relationship with Queen Mary, to Elizabeth’s love life – there is so much to be interested in.

Please count me in – this book sounds great!
