I read this last year. I thought it was both interesting and troubling. Like you said she was so young and so used by the adults in her life. I just saw a review of this one on Reader’s Respite, and it looks fascinating! I loved Devil in the White City, and I love to learn about the era along with the story of individuals’ lives. My radar is up for this one.
