Thanks for the comment love, all!

Alexis - I came up with the title under duress, when my publishing house nixed what had been the title (for like a million years) and starting coming up with their own - which were ghastly! After a few days of brainstorming with my editor, agent and anyone else who'd participate, I threw out FIRST COMES LOVE, THEN COMES MALARIA - and it stuck. And now I just love the title. I look forward to reading about your adventures too!

Sandy, I hope you thoroughly enjoy the book!

Kathy - you too! It ought to be available just about everywhere now. And if your local bookstore doesn't have it - ASK THEM TO GET IT!

I just won this book from Reader's Respite, and am so excited to read it! And even better, now I know that the author is a wonderful piece of work herself! I LOVE that...lives are like noses! What a hoot!

I love this: "The more I got into the writing process, the more I actually learned about what I had experienced. Things that hadn’t made sense at the time began to make sense. Events that had seemed insignificant finally revealed their meanings. I began to see connections and finally get the lessons of what I had been through."

I'm experiencing the same thing as I write my travel memoir about backpacking solo through Africa. Your book is on my to-read list, largely because it's the same genre as the one I'm writing. Fabulous title -- How'd you come up with it?

Thanks for a great post.
Alexis
