library loot pictureLibrary Loot is a weekly event co-hosted by Eva and Alessandra that encourages bloggers to share the books they’ve checked out from the library.

Last night I returned some books to the library, and took some more out.  The really sad thing is that 3 of the 4 books I returned went back unread, so now they’re back on my ‘get from the library’ list again.

So sad!  Those poor books just look so unloved going back into the slot with my hold sheets still in them.  Quite a pity.  Maybe the baby will be a little late so I have a week or so to sit at home and read after I stop working.  I was pretty good this week, though.  In fact, I actually took out the same number of books that I returned!

The Firemaster’s Mistress by Christie Dickason
The Weight of Heaven by Thrity Umrigar
The Alexander Cipher by Will Adams
Wild Things by Stephen James

If “Wild Things” looks familiar, it is because I’ve already had to return it unread once.  Hopefully this time I’ll actually be able to get to it.

  1. The same thing happened to me. One of the books I brought back I wasn’t able to read it so now I am on the list again to borrow it. I have that bad habit of taking too many out and not being able to read them all in the alotted time.

  2. I really liked The Firemaster’s Mistress! So far I haven’t been returning any books unread, but only because I have infinite renewals if no one has requested my books. I’ve had some of mine since February. *ashamed face*

  3. I am so glad I’m not the only one who ends up returning books I want to read, still unread. I get three renewals, for three weeks each. I have no excuse!

  4. I like the LibraryThing widget but I have a question: Is that all of the books you have currently checked out? If so, you must be one of the top patrons at your library. I bet they love you.

    • Yup, that’s everything I have out (plus I have 2 dvds out, but I don’t add those into my LibraryThing). I do keep their circulation numbers up, especially when I have to check the same book out multiple times to actually get to it!

  5. Well from your post and comments, I don’t feel so guilty about all the books I have had to return unread. I actually keep a list of library books I have returned that I want to check out again.

  6. Lots of books that I wouldn’t mind reading! I hope you enjoy them!
