Yes, I'm a book addict too! Honestly, it wasn't really that bad before I joined LT and started blogging. I barely realized that there was so many amazing books out there. Definitely the last 18 months have seen an explosion in my numbers of books too, and I also tend to get them for free or cheap with the occasional new irresistible purchase. A couple of years ago I had managed to cull my books down to about 400 books and then I started blogging and that number has crept up to about 600 between blogging and seeing and then buying all the recommendations. Supposedly I am on a ban right now, and am back to reading from my library again. We'll see how long that lasts. Don't even get me started on the library books! Book bloggers are definitely my enablers. You guys keep finding all these awesome books that I just HAVE to read for myself. I’m reading so much more now than I was before I started blogging. (And I was reading a lot before I started my blog!) I need to start double-stacking my shelves, or buy a house that has built-in shelving instead of walls.

For the baby’s books, I have a suggestion — well, one for when your little one is mobile at least. My 15-month-old cousin has tons of books (Cousin Ruth is an enabler, too, after all…) and her parents have most of her books in wicker storage baskets, in her room and her play area. She loves being able to go over to those baskets and pull out a book for someone to read to her. It’s a lot easier to return those books to the baskets than to have to re-shelve them multiple times per day.

I buy a lot more books now that I’ve had contact with authors and publishers. I want them to keep publishing books so I feel like I have to support them. My husband continually tells me that I don’t have to do it alone.

Proud to be a glutton, but I try not to buy. I grab the ones that I'm most desperate to read and leave the rest on a list. I find the biggest savings at goodwill stores, library sales, and discount tables at my indies. Matthew’s last blog post..1000th Post: Book Gluttony

The only way we can fit more shelves in our house is by putting them in the nursery – which we are going to do. We’re justifying it by covering them with brightly colored fabric that matches the rest of the room.
