I usually read two to three at a time. I need to do more audiobooks. That's a good idea.

I'm reading The Help right now and would imagine that with the right narrator it would be a fabulous audiobook. Love the title of your post!

I usually stick with one, but I think I'd also have an audiobook along with a regular book on the go at once since they're appropriate for different situations. Unfortunately, audiobooks and I don't really get along.

I generally have 4-6 books going on at a time. One in the car, one on my iPod, and two to four in book form. I love them all :)

I am recovering from a very long spell of book monogamy. I spent seven years reading a series of six books almost exclusively.

They were good books, but they were ridiculously dense fantasy books that required the same level of attention and concentration as, say, War and Peace or Crime and Punishment. They also came at a time in my life when I was in a long-distance relationship and thus had very little attention to devote to books.

Every now and then, I cheated on this series with the new Mercedes Lackey or Elizabeth Moon, but I felt horribly guilty each time, and I came back to my series, swearing never to stray again.

Since finishing those books three years ago, I have rekindled my love of books and have been known to read two or three at a time without guilt. Right now, I'm reading Writing the Breakout Novel, Pleasure Unbound on my iPod Touch, and I just finished Darkest Kiss and Darkest Pleasure by Gena Showalter (I read both in one day).

I will never go back to such slavish devotion to one book at a time. I trace it back to college, when I practically flogged myself for even thinking of reading something that wasn't an assignment for one of my classes.

Jennifer Roland’s last blog post..Why yWriter?

I'm shamelessly promiscuous! I usually read no more than six but it's inched up to ten of late. I've tried reading just one at a time, but oddly enough I've found it distracting because I end up thinking about all those other books I'd like to be reading too. Lol.

I'm a monogamous relationship with my books, however, depending on the situation and the mood I do stray away from my current read and get another one on the side. I suppose you could say that I cheat on my books, but I only do it out of love. :p
