Here are some of the interesting things going on in thepast week around the web:
My Friend Amy has a lovely guest post by Phyllis Scheiber in which the author talks about her childhood in relation with her writing and the semi-autobiographical nature of writing. If you comment you can be entered to win a copy of Phyllis’ book!
Over at Books and Movies, Carrie has a review of “Dragonfly in Amber” that is reminding me to get my rear in gear and read Diana Gabaldon’s Outlander series already! Everyone raves about these books, including Carrie, and I really think I’m missing out.
Nicole of Linus’s Blanket reviewed what sounds like a lovely and perhaps heartbreaking book, “Secret Daughter.” Not having read the book myself, I’m not sure I can do justice even to the description, so head over to Nicole’s blog and read about this book. I’m putting it on my wishlist.
On S. Krishna’s Book Blog, Swapna introduced American readers to a British author she loves, Dorothy Koomson. Most of Koomson’s books aren’t published in the US, so Swapna is giving away her copy of “Chocolate Run” to a US or Canadian reader who would like to become acquainted with Koomson.
Beth of Beth Fish Reads is also doing her very first giveaway. You can win one of two review copies that she simply doesn’t have time to read. Neither of these books is out in stores yet, so this is a great opportunity.
