My four are pretty spread out in age (they are all grown now, the oldest is 36, the youngest 19) and so I had the pleasure of reading aloud to them all for many, many years – and the pleasure and opportunity to reread many of my childhood favorites in the process. I cried every time I read Charlotte’s Web, and plan crying again when I read it to my grandaughter. She’s only one, though, and we’re still on board books.
