The Memorist and The Reincarnationist Giveaway

On Monday I reviewed The Memorist and let you all know that I had two sets of The Memorists and the previous book in the series, The Reincarnationist, to give away to two lucky winners.  Simply tell me WHY you want these books between now and Sunday night and I’ll choose two of you to receive the two-book set.  I’ll most likely use to select the winner, but if any of you has a REALLY compelling reason why you want them, perhaps you’ll win one of the sets without having to be randomized.

  • Well, my reason isn’t very compelling. My mom read “The Memorist” and really enjoyed it. I’d borrow it from her, but she’s already sent it out through PaperBackSwap… grr.

I’ve always liked reincarnation stories, and like this is a thriller, also. I’m not sure how much I believe in reincarnation, but I’m always intrigued by the possibility and drawn to stories with this theme, love to read these and see if it influences how I think on it, but sure I’d enjoy the books.

  • The reason is simple: I’m a book addict. Okay? I love books — the smell, the feel, and even what’s inside.

But the reason I should win these two books is that they are completely new to me. I’ve never heard of them — nor of M.J. Rose. Reading these two books will open up a new universe and take me down new paths of discovery. What’s better than that?

I would love to own the books for two reasons, to read, of course, and then to pass along to my grandmother. We both share a great passion for reading, and since she is unable to get out as much as she use to (i.e. visit the library) I like to bring my books to her. We would definitely love to read Rose’s books. We have both heard great things.

  • O please please please. I’ve entered every contest I can find for these two books and have had no luck. I haven’t read either one of them but they look so interesting! I will read and review them on my blog. I don’t want to resort to bribery, but I might… :)

  • Well my reason is simple: Your reviews and the others (after the links that you set on your entry) have totally sold me on both books and I am looking forward to find out on my own about those most interesting books. Thank you for giving me a chance to win both books at once.

  • hummm….does begging help in this circumstance? I had not heard of The Reincarnationist, but I have been reading reviews of the Memorist. First of all the cover alone is just really beautiful. Other than that, I just want to read it. I don’t have a firm opinion against or for reincarnation. I would love to escape into a really good story.

  • I’m like you — I don’t think these books will jive with my worldview. But you liked it, and that’s convinced me, I really want to read these books. I’m intentionally seeking out books that stretch me this year, and I think this fits that requirement.

  • I wish I could come up with a compelling reason like ending world hunger, but alas, you wouldn’t buy it even if I tried to argue it, ha ha. 😉 Both of these books are on my Amazon wishlist. And believe it or not, ever since my daughter was born, I am rethinking my previous stance on reincarnation. If you could have known my grandmother, who passed away 20 years ago, and then seen my 7-month-old daughter, you might think twice about it, too! Not just looks, I’m talking mannerisms here.

Anyhoo, I’m rambling here. I’m sure whoever you choose to give these books to will be most deserving and will love you forever for it. (Plus, look at all the good karma you’re creating here!)

  • I believe in reincarnation and have always been intrigued by the idea of past lives and what we remember if anything of them. That’s why I want to read the books.

  • I am not sure if I am eligible for this giveaway!
But I would like to answer your question –

I have in my surreal world believed in reincarnation, but in my real life; as all REAL people I am afraid to accept this fact :) And as I have not read any books on reincarnation – i want to read this to see, if the author can make my real self believe what my surreal self believes 😀

Lol! i think it is a stupid answer :) but I sure hope u understand!

    Take care!

  • I didn’t believe in reincarnation for the longest time. However, recently I have been questioning it. There have been some very compelling case studies that point to it. I am a lot more open to the possibility.

I would love to read both of these books. Even though they are fiction, I am thirsty to read more about peoples experiences. I have read some very compelling reviews for both books, yours among them and would cherish the chance to own them.

I blogged about your giveaway here:

  • After reading the above responses, I feel they have covered everything I wanted to say! I have heard SO much about these books that I have been itching to get my hands on them. Unfortunately, my library has a wait on both of them a mile long and I am this close to just giving up and buying them. About three weeks ago, I started a book blog. My goal is to get a nice broad spectrum of books reviewed, and I think these books would be perfect for that. As for my interest on the topic, I have always been intrigued by the idea of reincarnation…I am completely open to it. In fact, my daugher was born soon after the death of my grandmother, and I have often thought I see my grandma’s soul peeking through her actions and mannerisms. Thank you so much for sharing these books with us!

My reason is simple and echoes those of many other posters: I’ve heard the buzz and read the reviews of these books and they sound like layered and totally addictive reading. Also, I have requested that my library purchase these books and, so far, have had no luck obtaining them (I’m cheap… I rarely buy books that I haven’t already read once and labeled “keeper” unless the author is already a favorite).

  • Well, I don’t have a good reason for wanting to read them, they just sound like amazing books! I watched a video interview with the author in which she talked about the books and it just really intrigued me. I mean, I’m not totally positive if I believe in reincarnation but the way that Ms. Rose talked about them makes me want to believe.

  • Ahhh! I heard about these a few weeks back, and ever since I’ve had a longing urge to read them. The covers are gorgeous and the premises practically make me drool. Thanks for the giveaways!

I think reincarnation is a fascinating concept – I’d like to explore it. I’ve heard that these books are really good, and I’d like to lose myself in them for awhile. Thanks for the chance!
