Winner - The Heretic’s Daughter
Recently, I asked my readers to tell me what part of their family history they would like to research as part of a contest to win a copy of The Heretic’s Daughter (see my review here). I got some really great entries. I think some of you out there need to be writing your own historical fiction - or perhaps a family memoir, a la My Father’s Paradise. Hopefully our winner will soon be writing about her grandmother’s journey to America coming through Ellis Island and becoming sick from unfamiliar fruit. Everyone be on the lookout for a book by
Wendi B.!!!
As an FYI, I had a couple of people who did not follow directions (don’t worry, I’m not mad) and posted their entry on the wrong post. I didn’t want to keep them out of the contest, but I didn’t want to be unfair to those who entered at my review either. What I ended up doing was writing down the entries for everyone who entered on the review, giving out the extra entries for blogging about the contest, then copying and pasting again all of those names. After that, I entered the names of those who entered on my Sunday Salon post. So, basically, if you entered on the (correct) review post, it doubled your chance to win, relative to those who entered to win on the Sunday Salon post. After that, I put the whole thing into Random.org’s list randomizer and, voila!
noneThere were 55 items in your list. Here they are in random order:

Oooohhh, so close! I think I’ve tried three times to win this book. I guess I’ll have to break down and buy it — or wait till our library gets it in. It is on order and I’m in line.
