Jen, I’ve been eying this book and you’ve sealed the deal with this review. I’s officially on my “I want it and I want it now” list. I haven’t read anything that takes place in Scotland yet (until The Other Queen arrives!) and I’d love to learn more about that country.

Great review. I like historical fiction and books revolving around midwivery so this one is definitely going on the list.

I had read/reviewed this book earlier this month with Blog Stop Tours as well and enjoyed it as well. I could classify it as historical romance because the element was definitely there throughout the book in addition to the changing of characters innerself. Not all romance books contain explicit loves scenes, I think it just depends on the author and the point they are trying to get across overall. In my opinion, Blevins focused her novel more on the inner struggles of the characters she portrayed in the novel.
