Since this is Book Blogger Appreciation Week, I would like to take a little time and appreciate my favorite book blogger.
Now, I think the original exercise was to appreciate my favorite book bloggers, but there are far too many people whose blogs I love and depend on to get me through my day. I don’t want to bore you with a huge list, but I don’t want to leave anyone out, either. So, let me tell you a bit about my very favorite, first favorite book blogger.
I first found the blog Literate Housewife when looking at some historical fiction recommendations on LibraryThing. One of the books that interested me had only one review, and that on someone’s blog. I clicked through to that blog and wasted the better part of an hour clicking around, enjoying all of the content she had to offer. When I began to think about starting my own blog, I made my way back to Literate Housewife in order to get ideas and see how I wanted to set things up. It was her blog, really, that was a great deal of the inspiration for what my blog would become.
Now, I could have just admired her blog from afar. She could have been nice only in a perfunctory way. Instead, Jennifer (the proprietor of Literate Housewife) has always been incredibly supportive and encouraging and has become a good friend – she even sent me a wedding present and helped out with my comment moderation while I was on my honeymoon!
So here’s to Jennifer from Literate Housewife, and all of fantastic blogs and bloggers on my blogroll.
