I just finished reading book two and enjoyed the growing relationship between Henrietta and Miles. I agree that this isn’t truly historical fiction, but find it fun to read anyway.

Thanks for the reminder, Scarlet Pimpernel is going on my to read list. I think I’d heard of the miniseries/tv versions of Pimpernel before discovering Lauren Willig’s books, but I didn’t know they were based on books before reading the Pink Carnation series.

I never had an interest in it either, until reading Emerald Ring. I figured I’d read a little bit of it at a time while reading Willig’s books, but I started reading and didn’t want to put it down until I was done.

Okay, I’ve never even had the slightest interest in reading the Scarlet Pimpernel until this post. Now I absolutely must read it!!!! I have the Pink Carnation and the Emerald Ring. I’m going to keep my eyes open for the other two. It all sounds like a lot of fun.

I reread The Scarlet Pimpernel earlier this year. I didn’t remember a lot of it, and I loved it as well. The Willig series sounds like an interesting one.
