I was so happy to read your review – I haven’t read *Creepers* yet, and I always “preview” this type of book before my older kids dive into it. Now I feel confident/comfortable that they can read it before I do! (they borrow all kinds of books from the library without my specific OK … I guess I’m just trying to keep -some- control over things!)

I liked the ending because it was still a bit mysterious. I got the impression that Prudence died of some childhood disease, or any of the myriad of things that could kill a young girl 100 years ago. I thought the point was less about how she died than about the sorrow her father felt at the tragic loss of his daughter.

I wasn’t too fond of the ending. It just sort of ended in not really the way I had hoped. How did Prudence die anyways? I still don’t get that. It wasn’t the fire, so what else could have it been?
