I haven't read anything else of his, although I've heard a couple of other people on LT mention that they were excited about this book because they liked him as an author.

This book was great, but not in a way that would necessarily persuade me to read something else of his. The writing was very convincing in the style of Bram Stoker, so I could see the possibility of his writing not being good in other books.

Have you read any other books by James Reese? Long time ago I read his Book of Shadows and thought it so bad that I couldn't bring myself to finish it. It was his first though so that might have something to do with it...but if you think that his newest is really good then it might be something to look into.

I'm also super impressed with your 16 books read. I managed to read 11....which I was pleased with. Best so far in one month for the year. =)

I tried to get an ARC copy of The Dracula Dossier (based partly on your review), but it looks like I'll just have to wait until the release date like normal people. I'm really looking forward to your review of the last of the Pink Carnation books. I haven't read it yet because I don't tend to buy hardcovers normal priced and I haven't found it used. I'd like to know if it's worth it!

Holy Cow! Until I joined LibraryThing, I used to think I was a prolific reader, I'm a lightweight compared to the bloggers I've met there. I haven't check my list, but I think I probably only read about 4 books this month! (July's always a bad month though, we go on a vacation for a couple of weeks, and we spend the whole time at inlaws, fixing, painting, cleaning, etc to get them ready for the next year! I don't get much reading done then!)

I really enjoy your blog, and now, thanks to you, have added yet another book to my tbr pile! (The Dracula Dossier)
