BTT: Holiday Reading

pictureIt’s a holiday weekend here in the U.S., so let’s keep today’s question simple–What are you reading? Anything special? Any particularly juicy summer reading?

Well, I’m not generally a huge fan of beach reads, which is probably normal summer fare. A few years ago I went with my family to Cabo and I took with me (among other things) Founding Myths: Stories That Hide Our Patriotic Past and Genghis Khan and the Making of the Modern World to read around the pool.

Right now I’m basically trying to finish a last couple of ARCs before my wedding, as I have been told that I’m not allowed to take any books that I am supposed to read on the honeymoon with me. I’m working right now on the latest book I’m reviewing for ReaderViews and the book I have for HarperCollins First Look. Both are quite good, so look for those reviews coming soon!

Note: By ’supposed to read’ I just mean ARCs and other things that have been sent to me for review.  I guess I don’t actually have to read them, I want to.  But Brian considers it at least a little like work since I was specifically given the to review, so I’m not permitted to take them.
