It’s a holiday weekend here in the U.S., so let’s keep today’s question simple–What are you reading? Anything special? Any particularly juicy summer reading?
Well, I’m not generally a huge fan of beach reads, which is probably normal summer fare. A few years ago I went with my family to Cabo and I took with me (among other things) Founding Myths: Stories That Hide Our Patriotic Past and Genghis Khan and the Making of the Modern World to read around the pool.
Right now I’m basically trying to finish a last couple of ARCs before my wedding, as I have been told that I’m not allowed to take any books that I am supposed to read on the honeymoon with me. I’m working right now on the latest book I’m reviewing for ReaderViews and the book I have for HarperCollins First Look. Both are quite good, so look for those reviews coming soon!
Note: By ‘supposed to read’ I just mean ARCs and other things that have been sent to me for review. I guess I don’t actually have to read them, I want to. But Brian considers it at least a little like work since I was specifically given the to review, so I’m not permitted to take them.

It was pretty good. I like his stuff.

I don’t think I’d like to HAVE to read. And, I am glad for you that you’re not taking those with you on your honeymoon!

Honeymoons are definitely for relaxation, not for “required” reading. Good luck with wedding preparations!

I’m interested in Genghis myself. I’ll have to look that one up.
Have fun next week and on your honeymoon! I’m wishing you the best!!!

I have a couple of Early Review books I’ve been dragging my feet on for some reason. Both are nonfiction and I’ve not been reading much n/f this year, I’m having too much fun discovering wonderful novels!
When is the wedding?
Have a fun, safe weekend.
