This hour’s mini-challenge is being hosted by Vasillis. The task is to pick one of your favorite books and share one of your favorite quotes from it.
Even though Maw Books wasn’t thrilled with it, “The Little Prince” is one of my very favorite books. I try to read it both in English and in French about once a year (perhaps that was the problem, Natasha, it is much more beautiful in French than in English). I wasn’t able to find my French copy just now, though, so I will just post the quotes in English.
This first quote comes from the little prince’s rose:
Well, I must endure the presence of two or three catapillars if I wish to become acquainted with the butterflies.
This next one is from the very wise fox whom the little prince befriends:
It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye.
I figured out how to get to your site in Firefox! I just turned off the feature that remembers pages you’ve been to in the past 9 days. Since I’ve been getting your old page every day, I guess it never went over 9 days. I still can’t get your blog in IE, but I don’t care about that. I can’t tell you how happy I am right now!!!! Hopefully this keeps working.
This is one classic I’ve never read. I think my husband really liked it from when he was in high school.
What a great quote!
It’s one of my favourite books too
Those quotes are so cute! I read this when I was a kid and really liked it.
I think it must be a nostalgic thing. I knew it was suppose to be deep and wonderful, but I just couldn’t get into it. Sometimes it has to do with the time and place of when you read a book. It did have some great quotes though.
