		<description>This sounds really good!  Part of a college class I took years ago focused on captivity narratives in the American West - they were fascinating to read.  

And your comment on the underdeveloped modern-day plot reminds me of Map of Love by Adhaf Souif.  The same thing happened in that book IMO.  But it was still a good read all the same.</description>
