I thought the whole book was fantastic. The only thing I was slightly 'eh' about was the actual 'who done it'. The actual ending was not bad. I'm about 3/4th of the way done, but I hope the ending won't be as disappointing as you say. It took me a while to get my hands on this book because most of the libraries in the Bay Area only have the audio book, not the actual book itself.
