Thanks for the info. I’m going to be receiving The Laws of Manu by Anonymous. First translated into English in 1794. Although it is not a book I would have selected to read myself I am happy to read and review it.

This is great news!
I represent an author named Susan Hanshaw and her upcoming book “Inner Architect: How To Build The Life You Were Designed To Live”
We are asking people to review her book online at their blogs, so I was very happy to hear that Penguin is following suit–or am I?
The book is about change, identifying your passionate interests, utilizing your passionate interests as building blocks for creating your desired reality, and understanding how “Purpose” fits into our life.
A brief piece:

Anyone who would like to review Susan’s book in June please come http://innerarchitect.wordpress.com and leave us a message.
Thank you all for your consideration!

Thanks for posting this. I signed up and got notice that I am getting Adolphe….I’ve never heard of it (something that I feel slightly guilty about and I don’t know why). I am excited though. I love free books. =)

I’m with Lisa about being scared – I got Melmoth The Wanderer. YIKES!!!! What a great way to force yourself to read some classics, though.

I saw your same post about this on LT. I’m a bit concerned over copyright issues, though — here’s what it says about blogging for books specifically:
“By posting your comments or materials on the Public Areas, you grant us a non-exclusive, perpetual, royalty-free, world-wide licence to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, translate, publish, distribute to third party websites and display any content you submit to us in any format now known or later developed.”
That concerns me a little bit. And I didn’t notice it say anywhere that you retain copyright over your own reviews. I think I’ll just stick to LT ER books!

Have you gotten your free book yet? Mine hasn’t arrived and I’m wondering if I should be concerned. With only 6 weeks to read it, I don’t want to lose a minute.

I haven’t gotten mine yet. Actually, I’ve just started hearing about people getting theirs. We do get 6 weeks from the date of receipt to review it, though, so you don’t have to worry about it too much.

Mine hasn’t arrived yet but I noticed on the LT boards that some people are getting theirs. What happens if you don’t read it in the required 6 weeks? Do the book police come out and arrest you?
